தஞ்சைக்கு வந்த பௌத்த பிக்கு தாக்கப்பட்டார் – பௌத்தர்கள் அஹிம்சாவாதிகளா-ஹிம்சைகாரர்களா?
பௌத்தம் – நாத்திகம் – திராவிடர் கூட்டு என்னவாயிற்று?: பௌத்தமத சித்தாந்தங்களை வைத்துக் கொண்டு, இந்துமதத்தைத் தாக்கி வந்ததை, வருவதை பார்த்துள்ளோம்[1]. இந்துமத விரோதிகள் அவ்வப்போது, இந்த வாதங்களை எடுத்துக் கொள்வர். பௌத்தர்கள் திராவிடர்களே என்று கூட நாத்திகவாதிகள் வாதிட்டுள்ளனர். இங்கு பௌத்தர்கள், நாத்திகர்கள் என்று சேர்ந்து இருக்கும் போது, இலங்கையில் மட்டும் எப்படி பௌத்தர்கள் தமிழர்களுக்கு எதிராக நடக்கின்றனர் என்று பலமுறை எடுத்துக் காட்டியுள்ளேன். இது “திராவிடர்கள்” ஒட்டு மொத்தமாக காவிரி மற்றும் முல்லைப்பெரியார் நீர்களுக்கு அடித்துக் கொள்வதைப் போன்றுள்ளது[2]. பௌத்தமே அஹிம்சைவாதிகளா இல்லை ஹிம்சையிலும் ஈடுபட்டனரா, இந்தியாவில் பௌத்தம் எப்படி தேய்ந்தது என்ற பிரச்சினைகள் பற்றி எடுத்துக் காட்டியுள்ளேன்[3]. இந்நிலையில், பௌத்த பிக்கு ஒருவர், இலங்கையைச் சேர்ந்தவர் என்பதனால் தாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார் என்று ஊடகங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
தமிழ் இயக்கத்தினர் ஏன் தாக்கினர்?: தஞ்சாவூருக்கு இன்று காலை இலங்கை புத்த மத பிட்சு தலைமையில், தாய்லாந்து, இந்தோனேசியா, டெல்லி உள்ளிட்ட பல இடங்களிலிருந்து 19 மாணவர்கள் ஆய்விற்காக வந்தனர். இவ்வாறு வருவது சகஜமான விஷயம் தான். இந்திய மாணவர்கள், ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் மற்ற நாடுகளுக்குச் செல்கின்றனர்.ஈது தவிர மாநாடு, கருத்தரங்கம் என்று பலர் பற்பல நாடுகளுக்குச் செல்கின்றனர், செல்லும் போது, அங்குள்ள இடங்களைப் பார்த்து வருகின்றனர். இருப்பினும், வந்திருந்த தொல்லியல் ஆய்வு மாணவர்கள் குழுவில் இலங்கையைச் சேர்ந்த புத்த பிட்சு இருந்ததால், அவர் மீது தஞ்சையில் தமிழ் அமைப்புகள் தாக்குதல் நடத்தின[4] என்பது வித்தியாசமாக உள்ளது. இவர் தில்லி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் படித்து வருகிறாராம்[5]. தமிழ்தேச பொதுவுடமை கட்சி, நாம் தமிழர் கட்சி, விடுதலை தமிழ்புலிகள் கட்சியினர் முதலியோர் அடங்குவர் அப்போது அங்கு கோவில் வளாகத்தில் நின்ற புத்த பிட்சுகளை சூழ்ந்து கொண்டு தாக்க முற்பட்டனர். இதில் சில புத்த பிட்சுகளுக்கு அடி விழுந்தது. ரத்த காயமும் ஏற்பட்டது என்றெல்லாம் ஊடகங்கள் சொல்கின்றன.
புத்தபிக்கு தாக்கப்படும் இன்னொரு காட்சி
ஆராய்ச்சி-சுற்றுலா வருபவர்களைத் தாக்கலாமா?: ஆராய்ச்சி நிமித்தம் வருகின்ற பௌத்தர்களை இப்படி அடிக்கலாமா? இவர் தில்லி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் படித்து வருகிறார் என்றும் தெரிய வருகிறது[6]. இந்தியத் தொல்லியல் துறையில் [ASI] ஒன்றரை வருட டிப்ளோமா படித்து வருகின்றார். தில்லியில் இருக்கிறார் எனும் போது, தில்லியில் எப்படி இத்தனை காலம் விட்டு வைத்தனர்? இவரைப்போல இன்னும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கன இலங்கை மற்றும் பௌத்த துறவிகள், மாணவர்கள் இந்தியாவில் உள்ளனர். அனைவரையும் இவர்கள் இப்படி தாக்குவார்களா? திருமாவளவன் போன்றோர் தில்லியில் பலமுறை சென்று ஆர்பாட்டம் செய்துள்ளனர். அப்பொழுது, இத்தகைய இலங்கை பௌத்தர்களை அடித்து விரட்டலாமே?
தொல்லியல் துறை அலுவலகத்தில் நுழைந்த பின்னரும் அடிக்க வந்த மாணவர்கள்: உண்மையில் அந்த பிக்கு ஊட-ஓட விரட்டி அடிக்கப்பட்டார். கூட வந்திருந்த மாணவர்களும் பயந்து ஓட்டம் பிடித்தனர். தாக்குதலுக்கு பயந்து இலங்கையை சேர்ந்தவர்கள் தஞ்சை தொல்லியல் துறை அலுவலகத்தில் தஞ்சம் புகுந்தனர். துரத்தி வந்தவர்கள் அவர்களை தாக்க முயன்றார்கள். அப்பொழுது, கதவுகள் சாத்தப்பட்டன[7]. அதற்குள் வந்த போலீசார், போராட்டகாரர்களை கைது செய்த பின்னர் இலங்கை புத்தமத பிட்சு மற்றும் அவரது மாணவர்களை காவலர்கள் வெளியேற்றினர். இந்த தாக்குதலால் தஞ்சை பெரிய கோவிலில் பெரும் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.
திருச்சியிலும் தாக்கப்பட்டது ஏன்?: இந்நிலையில், அவர் பாதுகாப்பாக திருச்சிக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டார். ஆனால், அவர்கள் வந்த வேன் திருச்சி அருகே வந்தபோது, அடையாளம் தெரியாத மர்ம நபர்கள் சிலர் அந்த வேன் மீது கல் வீசித் தாக்கினர். இதில் வேனின் இருபக்க கண்ணாடிகளும் சேதம் அடைந்தன. பின்னர் போலீஸார் அங்கு வந்து, பாதுகாப்பாக அவர்களை மீட்டு விமான நிலையத்துக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். இதனால் திருச்சி பகுதியில் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.
பௌத்தர்கள்அஹிம்சாவாதிகளா–ஜிம்சைகாரர்களா?: தொடர்ந்து பௌத்தர்கள், பௌத்த யாத்திரிகர்கள் தாக்கப்படுவது சரியா என்று சிந்திக்க வேண்டும். கடந்த செப்டம்பர் 2012ல் கூட தஞ்சைக்கு வந்த பௌத்த யாத்திரிகர்கள் தாக்கப்பட்டனர்[8]. இலங்கைப் பிரத மந்திரி வந்து அகில உலக பௌத்த மாநாட்டைத் துவக்கி வைத்தபோதும், பலர் இந்தியாவிற்கு வந்தனர். பிறகு கால்பந்து குழுவும் விரட்டப்பட்டது[9]. பௌத்தர்கள் இலங்கையைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்பதனால் தாக்கப்படுகின்றனரா அல்லது அஹிம்சை விடுத்து இலங்கைத் தமிழர்களை கொடுமைப் படுத்தியதால் தாக்கப்படுகின்றனரா என்று தெரியவில்லை. பௌத்தர்கள் புத்தர் போதித்தபடி அஹிம்சைவாதிகள். ஆகவே அவர்கள் எப்படி கொடுமைக்காரர்களாக இருப்பர்? இலங்கையினையோ, இலங்கை மக்களையோ, பௌத்தத்தையோ ஒரு சின்னம் போல, அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டு, தமிழர்கள் தாக்கத் தொடங்கினால், நாளைக்கு, இந்தியாவில் உள்ள புத்தர் சிலைகள் தாக்கப்படுமா? அம்பேத்கரும் தாக்கப்படுவாரா?

Tamil outfits target archaeology students in Thanjavur
A Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, Pathberiye Gnanaloka Thero, was assaulted by members of Tamil outfits at the Big Temple in Thanjavur on Saturday. He was part of a team of students of the Institute of Archaeology of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), New Delhi, on a study tour.
Later in the day, vans transporting the students to the Tiruchi airport from Thanjavur were pelted with stones resulting in damage to windshields. However, the students escaped unhurt.
In Thanjavur, the students and staff, 19 in total, were going around the Sri Brihadeeswarar Temple when a group owing allegiance to the Naam Tamizhar Katchi and the Thamizh Desiya Podhuvudamai Katchi attacked Ven. Gnanaloka Thero, who stood out in the group in his saffron robe.
The students were taken to the ASI office near the temple, but the assailants surrounded the office and demanded that the monk be sent out. The incident sent shock waves among devotees and archakas who were witness to the attack.
Gnanaloka Thero was asked to change his clothes and sent to Tiruchi along with other students with police escort in vans. As the vehicles entered Tiruchi, two cabs transporting the students were targeted near Ariyamangalam and G Corner, where members of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Naam Tamizhar Katchi attacked the vehicles with sticks and stones, police said. The front windshield of one of the vans and the rear one in the other were damaged. However, the students were escorted safely to the airport.
City Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav met the students upon their arrival at the airport. The monk was put on a Chennai-bound flight later in the evening, while the others were accommodated at the airport temporarily.
The students hailed from different countries, including Sri Lanka, China and Thailand and from north India. All of them are studying Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology in New Delhi. Their proposed visit to Darasuram and Gangaikondacholapuram temples were cancelled following the incident.
Gnanaloka Thero has been staying in New Delhi for the last one-and-half years pursuing the diploma course. The 46-year-old monk, who hails from Colombo, told The Hindu on the phone from the Tiruchi airport that he came to India in 2011 and enrolled himself for the ASI course.
Eleven persons, including A. Nalladurai, State coordinator of the Naam Thamizhar Katchi, and Pazha Rajendran of the Thamizh Desiya Podhuvudamai Katchi, were arrested in Thanjavur, while 10 persons, including MDMK rural district secretary, Tiruchi, were held in Tiruchi in connection with the stone-throwing incident.

Pro-Eelam activists rough up Lankan monk at Brihadeeswarar temple

TRICHY: A Sri Lankan Buddhist monk was heckled and roughed up by some members of pro-Eelam groups at the Brihadeeswarar temple in Thanjavur on Saturday. Police arrested 12 persons, including a senior functionary of MDMK, in connection with the incident.
The Buddhist monk was part of a 19-member group from Delhi University doing research in archaeology. A Tamil activist, who spotted the monk on the premises of the temple, questioned him about his nationality. When the monk said he was from Colombo, the man tipped off some Tamil outfits. Immediately, a group descended on the students and attacked the monk.
The first to arrive on the scene were members of a fringe group, the Tamil Desa Pothuvudamai Katchi. Pazha Rajendran, a member of the outfit, picked up a quarrel with the monk. Eyewitnesses said the monk appeared to be upset when he was asked to leave the place immediately. Soon, other activists joined and the monk was heckled and roughed up before police came and rescued him.
Thanjavur superintendent of police T S Anbu told TOI that the group of visiting students appeared to be ignorant about the protests and the anti-Lanka sentiments gaining strength in the state.
Even while the monk was being whisked away to Trichy airport from Thanjavur, one group belonging to MDMK hurled stones at the vehicle. Police, escorting the vehicle, arrested 12 persons who were remanded in judicial custody. Police said those arrested belonged to the MDMK, Tamil Desa Podhuvudai Katchi and Viduthalai Tamil Puligal.

A Sri Lankan Buddhist monk is being roughed up by a group of Tamil nationalist in Tamil Nadu today. A group of monks from Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia went to thanjavur for research. These monks are currently pursuing archaeological studies in Delhi University.
The Brahadeewarar temple, called the Big Temple, is dedicated to Lord Siva. It was built by the great Chola King Raja Raja 1 (985 -1012 A.D). it is an outstanding exmple of Chola architecture. Recognizing its unique architectural excellence, UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage Monument.
The Sri Lankan Tamils issue has generated heat again in Tamil Nadu in recent weeks following the alleged cold-blooded killing of LTTE chief Prabakaran’s 12 year-old son Balachandran.
Meanwhile DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Saturday expressed his disappointment over the Centre’s silence on announcing its stand on the US-sponsored draft resolution against Sri Lankan in the United Nations Human Rights Council for its war crimes.

Firing from all cylinders, the Bodu Bala Sena yesterday hit back against Monday’s much-welcomed and harmonious compromise on the Halal controversy and its architects, with the monk-led group claiming it would not rest until the Islamic certification is completely banned.
The hard-line group which started the anti-Halal agitation through the country said the logo was merely the final stamp of a process that was abhorrent to the Sinhalese Buddhist majority in the island. The group said the Halal debate must continue and Sinhalese must continue to boycott Halal products.
The group slammed Presidential Advisor Milinda Moragoda and the trade chambers for brokering the compromise with the All Ceylon Jamaiythul Ulama, making it non-compulsory for companies to display the Halal logo on packaging. Calling Moragoda politically bankrupt and an agent of foreign influence in Sri Lanka, Bodu Bala Sena monks said the former Minister was engaged in a conspiracy to destroy Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
“Milinda Moragoda is creating an unholy inter-religious alliance, and attempting to destroy our learned monks. These revered bhikkus are now in the grasp of infidels,” Bodu Bala Sena National Organiser Viththarandeniye Nanda Thero told journalists yesterday.
Addressing the press briefing, Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero said they were disgusted that much-loved learned monks were joining hands with the ACJU to announce the Halal compromise. He charged that the Halal compromise had come with no warning to the Mahanayake Theros in the country.
“Those pseudo Buddhist leaders who never stood against Muslim extremism and Christian fundamentalism when it was taking root in this country five to six years ago are now suddenly claiming this is a historic occasion,” Gnanasara Thero said, referring to the monks present at the ACJU joint press briefing on Monday.
Hitting out at the business community, the Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary said the community was used to making money using shrewdness and cunning. “The trade chambers used these same tactics to manufacture this compromise on Monday,” he charged.
Taking a swipe at Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Susantha Ratnayake, the monk said that it was at the hotels of the Ceylon Chamber Chief that a Buddha Bar had been opened and an item called ‘nirvana’ was placed on a restaurant menu.
Bodu Bala Sena Executive Committee Member and layman Dilantha Vithanage charged that if the trade chambers failed to safeguard the interests of the Sinhala Buddhists, the group would take steps to set up a Buddhist trade chamber.
Vithanage said that it was unthinkable that the trade chambers, the ACJU and members of the clergy had reached consensus on such an important issue within two days.
“This is an insult to the Presidential Cabinet sub-committee that is yet to present its report on the Halal issue. The ACJU is making national decisions ignoring the Presidential committee,” he said.
He said the organisation of Muslim clerics had no business to make major announcements ahead of the report being submitted by the sub-committee. According to the group, several businessmen had complained to the committee about being coerced into obtaining the Halal certification.
Criticising the ACJU decision to provide Halal certification free of charge from now on, Vithanage said that only indicated that what they were doing in the past was robbery. “They must return all the money they made from certifying Halal, which is against their own religious teachings,” he said.
Vithanage said the monks who had joined the ACJU to announce the compromise yesterday had insulted the Mahanayake Theros who had only learned of the decision through media reports.
The Bodu Bala Sena said that they would continue their campaign of agitation and ensure Halal certification is completely done away with by the April New Year. The Group’s General Secretary said there was no point putting plasters on the problem.
The group said that the debate they had created about creeping Muslim extremism had already resulted in sales dropping by 50% in Muslim owned enterprises.

Signalling that its next campaign of agitation would be against the Muslim headdress and the garment that covers the entire body known as the niqab or burqua, the Bodu Bala Sena said the costume was a signal that Sharia law was being enforced in the country.
Bodu Bala Sena Executive Committee Member Dilantha Vithanage said that in a country that did not permit tinted windows in cars because it hindered identification, it was unthinkable that women were permitted to wear a garment that only revealed their eyes.
The group’s General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero said that the garment was causing all kinds of social problems in the country.
“A Police officer cannot identify who this person is under that garment, whether they are male or female. A woman Police officer always has to be present to check,” he said.

தமிழகமே உணர்வு அலைகளால் கொந்தளித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. தமிழகத்தின் குக்கிராமங்களிலும் கூட இந்தப் போராட்டம் வெடித்திருக்கிறது.
இந்நிலையில் இலங்கையிலிருந்து சிங்கள புத்த பிக்குகள் கோஷ்டி ஒன்று தஞ்சாவூருக்கு ‘இன்ப சுற்றுலா’ வந்திருக்கின்றனர்.
அவர்கள் தஞ்சாவூர் பெரிய கோயிலைப் பார்வையிட வந்த போது இது குறித்து தகவலறிந்து அங்கு வந்த, பழனி ராஜேந்திரன் தலைமையிலான தமிழ்தேச பொதுவுடைமை கட்சியை சேர்ந்தவர்கள், புத்த பிக்குகளை சுற்றி வளைத்து அவர்களை விரட்டி அடித்தனர்.
இதன்போது ஒரு புத்த பிக்கு காயமடைந்ததாக தெரிகிறது.
இதர புத்த பிக்குகள் ஆளுக்கு ஒரு திசையில் ஓடி பொலிசார் உதவியுடன் அஙகுள்ள தொல்லியல் துறை அலுவலகத்தில் தஞ்சமடைந்தனர்.
சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பும் இதேபோல் இலங்கையிலிருந்து சுற்றுலாவுக்காக வந்த சிங்களர்கள் ஓட ஓட விரட்டியடிக்கப்பட்டு தமிழகத்தை விட்டு வெளியேற்றப்பட்ட சம்பவமும் நடைபெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

தமிழீழ இனப்படுகொலைகளுக்கு நீதிகேட்டு தமிழகம் கொந்தளித்துக் கொண்டுள்ள நிலையில், அங்கு நடைபெற்ற இனப்படுகொலைகளை ஆதாரித்து வழிநடத்திய சிங்கள புத்த பிக்குகள் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு ‘சுற்றுலா’ என்ற பெயரில் தொடர்ந்து உலா வருகின்றனர்.
தமிழ்நாட்டு சட்டமன்றம் இலங்கை மீது பொருளாதாரத் தடை விதிக்க வேண்டுமென ஒருமனதாக தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றி, இலங்கையுடனான சுற்றுலா உறவை முறித்துக் கொள்வதற்கும் முன்னிற்கின்ற போதுகூட, சிங்களவர்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு வருவது குறைந்தபாடில்லை.
இன ஒதுக்கல் கொள்கையை அரசியல் கொள்கையாகக் கடைபிடித்து, கறுப்பின மக்களை நசுக்கி வெள்ளை இனவெறி ஆட்சி நடந்த தென்னாபிரிக்கா, ஜிம்பாப்வே ஆகிய நாடுகளுக்கு எதிராக சோவியத் ஒன்றியம் உள்ளிட்ட சோசலிச நாடுகளும், இந்தியா உள்ளிட்ட அணிசாரா நாடுகளும் தூதரக உறவை நீக்கி அந்நாடுகளுக்கு எதிராக பொருளாதாரத் தடை, விளையாட்டு வீரர்கள், கல்வியாளர்கள், மாணவர்கள், பக்தர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட யாரும் போகத் தடை, அதே போல் அங்கிருந்து மக்கள் தங்கள் நாடுகளுக்கு வரத்தடை என்ற தடைகளை விதித்து செயல்படுத்தி வந்தன.
ஆனால், இலட்சக்கணக்கான தமிழ் மக்களைக் கொன்றொழித்த சிங்கள புத்த பிக்குகளும், சிங்களவர்களும் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு தங்கு தடையின்றி வந்து செல்ல இந்திய அரசு தொடர்ந்து அனுமதித்துக் கொன்றிருக்கிறது.
இந்நிலையில், தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு வரும் சிங்களவர்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்து அவ்வப்போது, தமிழ்த் தேசப் பொதுவுடைமைக் கட்சி உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு இன உணர்வாளர் அமைப்புகள் போராட்டங்கள் நடத்தி வந்தன.
இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாகஇ இன்று சனிக்கிழமை தஞ்சை பெரிய கோவிலுக்கு வந்த சிங்கள புத்த பிக்கு ஒருவர், தமிழ்த் தேசப் பொதுவுடைமைக் கட்சித் தோழர்களால் வெளியேற்றப்பட்டார். அவர் ஓட ஓட விரட்டியடிக்கப்பட்ட காட்சிகள் சத்தியம் தொலைக்காட்சிகள் ஒளிபரப்பியது.
போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்ட தமிழ்த் தேசப் பொதுவுடைமைக் கட்சி தலைமைச் செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர் தோழர் பழ.இராசேந்திரன், தஞ்சை நகரச் செயலாளர் தோழர் இரா.சு.முனியாண்டி, தமிழக இளைஞர் முன்னணித் துணைத் தலைவர் தோழர் கெ.செந்தில்குமரன், நாம் தமிழர் கட்சி ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் வழக்கறிஞர் நல்லதுரை, விடுதலைத் தமிழ்ப் புலிகள் தோழர் அருள் மாசிலாமணி உள்ளிட்ட 12 பேர் தற்போது கைது செய்யப்பட்டு அரண்மனைக் காவல் நிலைத்தில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இந்தியாவின் தமிழ் நாடு பிரதேசத்தில் இரு தேரர்கள் தாக்கப்பட்டதன் பின்னணியில் முஸ்லிம் அடிப்படைவாதிகள் இருக்கலாம் என தாம் சந்தேகிப்பதாக பொது பல சேனா தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

சென்னை ரயில் நிலையம் மற்றும் தஞ்சை பகுதியில் பிக்குகள் தாக்கப்பட்ட சம்பவம் தொடர்பில் கவலை தெரிவித்து அறிக்கை ஒன்றினை வெளியிட்டுள்ள அவ்வமைப்பு இவ்வாறான தாக்குதல்களை நடத்த விடுதலை புலிகள் ஆதரவு அமைப்பு அல்லது புலம் பெயர் தமிழர்கள், முஸ்லிம் அடிப்படைவாதிகளுக்கே தேவை இருப்பதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
தமிழ் நாட்டுக்கு செல்லும் இலங்கையர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு தொடர்பில் இந்திய அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கையினை மேற்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.
அத்துடன் இந்திய மாணவர்கள் பெரும் எண்ணிக்கையிலானோர் இலங்கையில் கல்வியை தொடர்வதாகவும் இவ்வாறான தாக்குதல்கள் மூலம் இந்திய எதிர்ப்பு போராட்டமொன்றினை இலங்கையில் ஏற்படுத்த சில குழுக்கள் முனைவதாகவும் பொது பல சேனா தனது அறிக்கையில் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.
அத்துடன் இலங்கை இந்தியாவின் பிராந்தியம் இல்லை என்பதை இந்தியா முதலில் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என தெரிவித்துள்ள அந்த அமைப்பு இலங்கையில் இன ரீதியாக மோதல்களை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையிலும் இறைமைக்கு பாதிப்பு ஏற்படும் வகையிலும் செயற்படும் சக்திகளை இந்தியா உடனடியாக தடை செய்ய வேண்டும் எனவும் தெரிவித்துள்ளமைக் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

AP Sri Lankan Buddhist monks representing “Sinhala Ravaya” or ‘the voice of Sinhalase’ shout slogans during a protest outside the Indian High Commission in Colombo on Tuesday.
Sinhala Ravaya, a Sinhalese Buddhist pressure group, on Tuesday staged a march to the Indian High Commission in Colombo to protest the repeated attacks against Buddhist monks in Tamil Nadu.
Several dozens of monks and civilians handed over a petition to the Indian mission seeking Indian government’s intervention to prevent the attacks.
“The LTTE cadres who have killed many civilians Buddhist monks…are now enjoying the facilities provided by the government after being rehabilitated.
“While there is such a situation in Sri Lanka, we regret that the Indian government has not taken any action to stop these uncivilised actions against Sinhala Buddhists”, a statement by Sihala Ravaya said.
Two Buddhist monks had come under attacks in Tanjavur and in Chennai on Monday, triggering protests in Colombo.
Sri Lanka said it has sought from India protection for the Sri Lankan travellers and the island’s interest in view of the protests which have mounted to coincide with decision time for India over the anti-Sri Lanka resolution at the U.N. Human Rights Council.
The protest came just hours ahead of an Indian High Commission statement which said “We have noted with concern the recent incidents involving Sri Lankan citizens in Tamil Nadu. The Government of India, in consultation with the concerned State governments, has taken and will continue to take all measures to ensure the safety, security and well-being of Sri Lankan visitors to India, including to Tamil Nadu”.
